Por medio del desarrollo de este trabajo, se determinó el tamaño del efecto del autoconcepto y la autoimagen respecto al rendimiento académico, teniendo en cuenta la percepción que cada estudiante tiene de sí mismo. El estudio canto con una población de 127 estudiantes del colegio San José de Castilla, jornada mañana, en la ciudad de Bogotá. Y se realizó durante el año 2017. Se aplicaron coma instrumento los cuestionarios de autoconcepto elaborado por Piers Harris y el "cuestionario del sí mismo" elaborado por Gutiérrez y Almeida. Posteriormente los datos obtenidos fueron procesados y analizados con los software estadísticos WINSTEPS versión 4.0.1 y el programa AMOS 5.0, con los cuales se obtuvieron los grados de validez y confiabilidad del instrumento e ítems respectivamente. La presente investigación corresponde a una metodología cuantitativa, ex post facto, retrospectiva de un grupo simple, acorde a la clasificación propuesta por los autores Montero y León (2007). Entre las conclusiones se encontró que la variable autoconcepto generó un tamaño de efecto moderado en las asignaturas de algebra, física e inglés, en las otras asignaturas el efecto no es significativo. Para la autoimagen el tamaño del efecto fue moderado solo para inglés y no significativa para las demás.

Through the development of this work, we determined the size of the effect of self-concept and self-image regarding academic performance, taking into account the perception that each student has of himself. The study counted on a population of 127 students of the San Jose de Castilla school, day tomorrow, in the city of Bogota. And il was carried out during the year 2017. The self-concept questionnaires prepared by Piers Harris and the "self-questionnaire" prepared by Gutierrez and Almeida were applied as an instrument. Subsequently, the data obtained were processed and analyzed with the statistical software WINSTEPS version 4.0.1 and the AMOS 5.0 program, with which the instrument's validity and reliability degrees and items respectively were obtained. The present investigation corresponds to a quantitative methodology, ex post facto, retrospective of a simple group, according to the classification proposed by the authors Montero and Leon (2007). Among the conclusions it was found that the variable self-concept generated a moderate effect size in the subjects of algebra, physics and English, in the other subjects the effect is not significant. for the self-image, the effect size was moderate only for English and not significant for the others.
