For several years, anthropology has been investigating the relationship between communities and their environment, specifically the networks that are woven between human and non-human actors. From there, there have been multiple narratives that have been made about the ways of experiencing and enunciating the natural world. Taking into account the foregoing, this research seeks to understand the collective, pedagogical and above all political action of the guardians of the Atrato River, (specifically the Atrato environment and the city of Quibdó), taking sentence T-622 of 2016 as the articulating axis. that recognizes the river as a subject of rights. Reflecting on the challenges and problems of socio-environmental conflicts due to the multiplicity of actors and territorialities. The ontological turn is an epistemological and methodological bet for this research, it has allowed us to delve into the complex web of processes and relationships that go beyond the human, giving way to the approach, study and experimentation of the multiple ways of conceptualizing the relationship with the natural and social environment. The results show that for the communities the flag of struggle continues to be the territory and the defense of local ontologies, especially within the framework of the development of neoliberal policies that threaten life itself, evidencing strong leadership at the local level.
