In this sense, information and knowledge flows are particularly important. That is why, this research seeks to answer the questions: Why is there so much talk about information and knowledge flows? How does the scientific literature reflect these issues? On what conceptions does it rest? With what processes is it linked? To answer these questions, a theoretical analysis is carried out on the information and knowledge flows, which has made it possible to detect the contributions and limitations of both topics, as well as propose a superior approach that absorbs and integrates them.
