This research is part of the socio-critical paradigm, with a qualitative approach, of a descriptive analytical type. "Mathematophobia: A barrier to Mathematical learning", whose objective is to identify factors in the process of learning Mathematics that are likely to generate Mathematophobia. lt is supported in the information processing model of Robert Gagné's Theory of Learning, where the phases and types of learning are analyzed; also, in the concept of Mathematophobia and the roles of the student, parents and teachers. In the conclusions there are factors that can generate Mathematophobia, such as the phases of motivation and retention, which limit the willingness to acquire mathematical knowledge and the development of skills and abilities in their daily lives; the lack of retention limits the tools for learning, even in the short term. There is a teacher preference for the classical conditioning type of leaming, although it is not the most effective mechanism because it limits the autonomy and proposition (disposition) of the student. Regarding the roles of students and family, which are interrelation and participation, where students have a passive participation in their own learning process, as well as a low participation by their family. The teacher role is all about his professional training, experience, discipline, the time it takes for the qualification, the constant or inconstant relationship with knowledge, demands of parents and the education system; therefore the reception of the teacher's speech by the family and the students is not evident.
