Resumen en inglés
This work has to do with the oral histories of the murui- muina people, concerning their teritory in the community of Tukunare, located in the village of Puerto Leguizamo, in the state of Putumayo. During the "mambeadero" nights and casual conversations, through participatory investigation, I was able to collect narrations of tales or mythical stories and their life histories. These narrations formed the begining of this study. This work is comprised of three chapters. The first is titled "Who are the murui-muina or uitoto". It deals with their history and the comunity of Tukunare, and the different historic events that took effect in the amazonic territory from the rubber period until today. The second chapter, " Marceliano Cobete's basket of tales in the maloca of Tukunare", is based on their tales or mythical stories. The third chapter is titled "Jitoma and Kechato, the inexhaustible, unfinished and vital myth". This myth as told by two main voices: that of Marceliano Cobete and Jose Antonio Munoz, shows that this narrative in spite of the variations, based on the voices of the tellers, displays Tukunare as a community in constant agreement and change.
