La educación ambiental es una herramienta efectiva para afrontar los problemas asociados con la degradación ambiental. En ese contexto, el presente artículo tiene como objetivo identificar el contenido normativo que regula la educación ambiental en Colombia, en el plano constitucional, legal y reglamentario, a fin de evidenciar las falencias en la materialización de esta normativa y plantear propuestas para su fortalecimiento. Para el propósito descrito, se dividirá el trabajo en dos partes. En una primera parte, de carácter descriptiva, se estudiará la educación ambiental en el ordenamiento jurídico colombiano, abarcando el ámbito constitucional, jurisprudencial, legal y reglamentario. En la segunda parte, de reflexión, se presentarán las falencias en la materialización de la normativa en materia de educación ambiental y se plantearán propuestas enfocadas a su fortalecimiento.

Environmental education is an effective tool to address the problems associated with environmental degradation. In this context, this article aims to identify the normative content that regulates central to analyze the content and scope of environmental education in Colombia, at the constitutional, legal and regulatory level, in order to show the shortcomings in the materialization of this regulation. and make proposals for its strengthening. making a balance of its application and presenting some proposals 30 years after the issuance of the Political Constitution of 1991, considered an ecological charter. For the purpose described, the work will be divided into two parts. In the first part, of a descriptive nature, environmental education in the Colombian legal system will be studied, covering the constitutional, jurisprudential, legal and regulatory scope. In the second part, of reflection, the shortcomings will be presented in a balance of the materialization of the application of the regulations on environmental education and proposals focused on their strengthening will be proposed.
