La ciudad de Santa María de La Antigua del Darién se ubica en el costado occidental del Golfo de Urabá, Chocó, Colombia; allí se erigió lo que fue una de las primeras ciudades españolas en lo que se denominaba la provincia de Tierra-Firme. Durante esta época se buscó establecer una ciudad europea en América con sus costumbres y su organización social; lo cual conllevó a que se entablaran relaciones de desigualdad, poder y estatus entre los pobladores indígenas y españoles. Ahora bien, las excavaciones llevadas a cabo por el Instituto Colombiano de Antropología e Historia en el año 2015 permitieron que se identificara un solar de la ciudad, este contenía dos áreas, la primera asociada a una vivienda indígena y la segunda a una vivienda española.

The city of Santa María de La Antigua del Darién is situated on the western side of the Gulf of Urabá, Chocó, Colombia; there was established what was one of the first Spanish cities in the area known as the province of Tierra-Firme. During this period, an attempt was made to establish a European city in America with its customs and social organization, which led to the establishment of relations of unequality, power and status between the native settlers and the Spaniards. Now, the excavations carried out by the Colombian Institute of Anthropology and History in 2015 allowed the identification of a plot of the city, which contained two areas, the first associated with an indigenous household and the second with a Spanish dwelling. With the above, the present project aims to talk about the type of social relations that developed between the inhabitants of these two housing units and belonging to a solar of the Spanish city. For this, the historical sources and official documents, the analysis of the archaeological material from the excavations of the F cut and the results of the geophysical prospecting under the georadar technique are implemented.
