- PublicaciónAcceso abiertoAportes de la Yupana a la interpretación de la multiplicación(Bogotá : Universidad Externado de Colombia, 2018., 2018-08-27) Espitia Pinilla, Sonia Esperanza; Arévalo Ramírez, Sandra PatriciaThis work shows the design, implementation and result of a pedagogical intervention proposal with students of the 302 JT course of the District Educational institution Juan Evangelista Gómez, focused on constructing the meaning and sense of multiplication, through the implementation of the different types of problems and the use of the Yupana (Inca abacus). According to the classroom diagnosis, it was identified that 20 students had difficulty in recognizing the positional value of the figures in the algorithms and the structure of the Yupana, it was considered that it can contribute to strengthen the decimal system of numbering relevant to learning of operations. The development of this sequence accounts for the strategies implemented by students for the interpretation of multiplication in different situations and their algorithm as the optimal solution strategy. As well as the benefits of generating more significant pedagogical practices for students.
