- PublicaciónAcceso abiertoAsco: una discusión sobre la continuidad entre la biología y la cultura(Bogotá : Universidad Externado de Colombia, 2017., 2017-09-29) Jaramillo Serna, SaraDisgust is, probably, indissociably linked to human experience, and, therefore, of their biologícal, social, cultural and psychological character. Unlike emotions that are susceptible to cultural and individual variation, basic emotions, within which disgust is included, have facial expressions associated with specific muscular groups, and they are presumed of having an evolutionary fundament which is translated into emotional biological bases, which means, the potentiality to feel and facially express !hose emotions. Nevertheless, in the last few decades, a debate has arisen around those determinist theories which point to a unique factor as explanatory of complex phenomena, like emotional expression. Taking that into account, one of the main interests of the present investigation was to have the participation of people who recognized themselves as indigenous and non-indigenous, that with the purpose of including different perspectives of disgust, its characterization and expression. Hence, facial electromyography (EMGf), GSR (galvanic skin response), Disgust Scale - Revised, and a semi structured interview were applied.
