- PublicaciónAcceso abiertoEl cáncer como experiencia subjetiva en el desarrollo de estrategias de cooperación en grupos de apoyo : el caso de la red social Facebook(Bogotá : Universidad Externado de Colombia, 2019., 2019) Alba Tenjo, Carol Johanna; Valencia Lara, Sandra CarolinaThe objective of the research is to understand how the experience of having been ill with cancer is related to the generation of help strategies in the case of virtual support groups on Facebook, the participants of this research were 4 cancer survivors who decided to resignify his experience of having suffered this disease by creating cooperation strategies in social networks. With diverse psychosocial profiles, each one found in solidarity the best method to recover his life and heal the psychological and emotional wounds caused by the disease. To fulfill the objective of the investigation, the axiological structure of the research participants and the virtual communities analyzed were apprehended through a phenomenological design that analyzed various discourses intending to understand the intersubjective construction of the meaning attributed to the disease. In this sense, the resignification of cancer allowed us to understand and systematize the social, psychological and emotional processes that develop at the limit of life, especially those that have a latent risk of death. The experience of people leads us to understand that overcoming the disease gives a collaborative sense to the lives of the survivors, thus, the social construction of the collaboration strategies found allows us to assert that the survivors develop methods of psychological and emotional support according to their interests and the dynamics of the interaction of virtual communities.
- PublicaciónAcceso abierto¿Qué fue el cáncer para nosotros? : estudio de caso en mujeres y miembros de su familia después de la experiencia vivida(Bogotá : Universidad Externado de Colombia, 2019., 2019) Medrano Vargas, Natalia del PilarThe present article is the result of the research carried out in the area of Family and specifically in the line of gender and generations of the Externado University of Colombia. Returning to the testimony of seven women who have lived a cancer experience, where the changes and transformations have gone beyond the physical as the impact was not only experienced by these women but also by each of their families, emotionally speaking. and of course functional within the family system. Thus, the reconstruction of the meaning attributed to a disease such as cancer allows us to account for the implications that this experience has generated in the family environment. Likewise, it also seeks recognition of the changes identified from the personal experience of each woman and from the experience of one of the family members, evidencing that both at a personal level and at a family leve!, cancer has been a cause of ill health but it also ends up becoming a mobilizing element. lt raises a reflection about the role exercised by each of these women in the family environment and identifies how such a complex and silent disease is unleashed in these cases, blurring the terrifying idea of cancer as a carrier of death and loss.
- PublicaciónAcceso abiertoVivir para contarlo : experiencias y significados en torno a la dimensión temporal en personas con cáncer(Bogotá : Universidad Externado de Colombia, 2019., 2019) Jaimes Ávila, María JoséThis research includes an approach to human relationships in the context of cancer disease through the perspective of experiential time. This with the objective of understanding the way in which the experiences and meanings around the temporal dimension in people with cancer are configured and operated. In this sense, the methodology had a qualitative and interpretative hermeneutic character, in line with the relational approach to narratives and the identification and construction of meanings and meanings from the contexts of the seven participants. Through this process, I emphasize that the time is not always the same, it can be transformed according to the person, the type of cancer, the cycle of life, even, according to the moment of the disease in which the person is. The reconstruction of the experiential time constituted a path to know particular dynamics and shared by several people that exacerbate processes of malaise, well-being, suffering, support, in these populations, in such a way that it can be appear as a valuable exercise for the identification, reflection, strengthening strategies and resources that favor more significant and relevant care spaces according to the needs of some people with malignancies.
